Jacob Sartorius’s “Sweatshirt” Video Fails to Silence Sexual Harassment Claims

  • We covered Jacob Sartorius’s sexual harassment allegations yesterday, but here it is in video! For those of you who are too lazy to click the link OR the video, here’s a quick rundown of the story. Both Tubefilter and Buzzfeed reported that a number of fans have complained about the 13-year old social media star’s behavior. There’s one obviously fake screenshot claiming that he makes $5,000 per show but still hates hugging “fat and smelly fans,” plus plenty of other mean tweets about him. The only reason this story has legs is because of this tweet:

  • Yeah, that’s pretty creepy — and damning. Politely asking a girl you’re dating for nudes is already borderline uncool, but asking a rando — an underage rando — and then not listening to her requests for you to f*ck off is gross no matter what your age. So, while all this controversy is swirling around, what did Sartorius do? He released a badly ill-timed music video:

  • As of this writing, the video already has over 80,000 dislikes on YouTube, with more sure to come. This whole story is gross and no one comes off well in it, including me for writing about it. Oh well! Hopefully it results in one more creep being taught to not be so damn creepy. What do you think? Is this just an example of youthful indiscretion, or something far worse?
