700 People Have Claimed They Are Related to Prince
When Prince died, he sadly did not leave a will behind. So naturally, nearly 700 men and women came forward to try and grab a piece of the inheritance. Prince’s estate is worth over $300 million and has drawn all kinds of cruddy people out of the woodwork. So many people are claiming to be related to Prince that if Maury were to do a DNA test on two people per show, for five days a week, he’d be able to film 70 weeks worth of episodes (about a year and 18 weeks worth). People would be able to start making bets based on that kind of regularity! Harvey Morse of Morse Genealogical Services says the company’s phone has been “ringing off the hook” with stories that “run the gamut, literally from ‘We lived in the same area so we must be related’, to ‘We have pictures of Prince at our family reunion.’ ” Morse does say that there is actually one person who stands to gain a part of the fortune, and of course, Prince does have a sister, and three half brothers and sisters. Fun fact: If you were to split up Prince’s estate of $300 million with his “700 family members,” they’d each get about 428,571 dollars before taxes. That of course doesn’t count any of Prince’s unreleased music, music videos, or the documentary made by Kevin Smith.
