Postmodern Jukebox Turns Hollaback Girl Into a Swing Sensation

If you spent most of 2005 listening to Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” and thinking, “Gosh, I love this song, but I really think I’d love it so much more if it was swing instead,” then boy oh boy has Postmodern Jukebox got the cover for you! It’s a swing cover or Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl,” in case that wasn’t clear. Postmodern Jukebox’s covers are always impeccably done, and this one is no exception. Featuring the vocals of PMJ regular Robyn Adele Anderson, they reinvigorate a classic ’00s song that, let’s be honest, none of us can really stomach listening to in its original form anymore, no matter how much we may love Gwen Stefani. You can only shout along to a rhythmic spelling of “bananas” so many times, guys. But this new version involves singing and no shouting, so it’s worth a listen.
