Jennifer Lawrence Aims to Redefine the Normal Body Type

  • It’s nothing new that in today’s day and age, the entertainment industry favors the skinny girl. At least, that’s what it seems like. Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence is understandably frustrated by this and passionate about changing what people define as the “normal” body-type. “I think we’ve gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s curvy.’ Which is crazy,” Lawrence argues.Source: www.harpersbazaar.com

  • “I would like us to make a new normal-body type. Everybody says, ‘We love that there is somebody with a normal body!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t feel like I have a normal body.’ I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person,” Jennifer says. Recently, Gucci used an unhealthily thin-looking model, and the Advertising Standards Authority in Britain banned the ad. In addition, Amy Schumer–a size 6 or 8–was deemed as plus-size in Glamour magazine. The star fought back, claiming her size is by no means “plus.”  Looks like people are finally speaking up. A size 00 is by no means what we should be aiming for. If that’s your natural body type, great, but if you’re a few sizes bigger, that should never be seen as fat by any means.
