Avicii Announces Last Year of Touring

  • Earlier this morning, Tim Bergling (Avicii) took to Facebook and his online website to announce that 2016 will be his final year of touring and performing live shows. In a sentimental–and lengthy–letter, the young star thanks a plethora of people in the business that have helped him grow both personally and professionally. From the content of the letter, we can infer that Bergling was struggling with some mental health issues, as he refers to the people who helped him while he suffered from darker moments. He experienced fame at a young age and during a time where big life changes take place, so it makes sense that growing up in the spotlight took a toll at times.

  • Avicii took off on a really positive note. He thanks each person he’s worked with and every fan, whether supportive or not, for the lessons they’ve taught him. Even though he’s not quitting music entirely, it’s time for him to explore different areas of his interests. And hey, who knows what will happen in the future. He doesn’t promise never, but he does confirm there won’t be a comeback any time soon. We’re nothing but excited but for the big star to follow his gut and experience something other than fame. Luckily, he’s got a lot of big supporters!
