Traffic Reporter Pays Tribute to Rapper Phife Dawg

Today, Tribe Called Quest rapper Phife Dawg aka Malik Taylor passed away from complications resulting from diabetes. As a tribute, a traffic reporter in Atlanta, Georgia decided to insert Phife Dawg’s rap lyrics into his traffic reports throughout the day. “Mic drop! WSB-TVs Mark Arum and Fred Blankenship paid tribute to the late A Tribe Called Quest rapper Phife Dawg this morning by brilliantly inserting lyrics into the traffic report,” explained WSB-TV in the YouTube description. “This rush hour coming with more hits than the Braves or the Yankees,” Arum said. In a later segment, he asked airborne traffic reporter Mark McKay, “Are things ludicrously speedy or infectious with the slow-mo?” (They were currently infectious with the slow-mo.) Reporting on a crash south of the GA-400, Arum said, “Tell your mother, tell your father, send a telegram, what can you show us, Mark McKay?” I would just like to point out that I did not understand any of that – but here’s their single “Award Tour” from 1993:
